We have absorbed as much of the increasing costs as possible but unfortunately, we are unable to continue bulk billing all our patients and maintain a high quality of care.

From November 2012 to date, the Australian Government had frozen Medicare rebates. This meant that for 10 years, the rebate amount for sessions did not grow whilst the costs of running a practice, including rent, utilities, medical consumables, PPE, staff costs etc continued to increase. In the past decade the Government has only increased the standard consultation fee by $4 over the last 9 years.

Consequently, the gap between Medicare rebates and cost of operating expenses will continue to widen. As a result, it is not possible for our practice to meet the running costs each year without having a gap (out-of-pocket) fee.
  • All appointments now incur an out-of-pocket fee. You will be charged the full fee, with a Medicare rebate on the day of your appointment. We continue to offer walk-in services however these will now incur a fee. Fees also extend to phone consultations.
  • Patients with valid concession card, Pension cards and children under 16 years of age will be bulk billed during the week. Veteran cardholders will also continue to be fully bulk billed. These cards must be sighted and in date on the day of consultation. Appointments on the weekend or public holiday will no longer be bulk billed, concession cardholders will be charged at a reduced rate.
  • Please contact the clinic if you need to change or move your appointment time. A cancellation fee of $20 will apply if you fail to attend your appointment or cancel your appointment within 2 hours of your appointment time.
